I managed to get my first drive of the new car at a track day at Donington on 6 April 2005. The day started wet, but dried out to give a totally dry track in the afternoon. We couldn't do any timing, but the car certainly felt quicker than the old car. We are all ready for the first race in the new car at Brands Hatch on 24 April 2005. Many thanks to Keith Bird Motorsport for the hard work in building the car.
Car finally made it onto the rolling road on 1 April 2005. The new ECU was fully programmed and the engineers were pleased with the results.
We have had some problems getting the ECU working with the car. The new race car will therefore not be ready to race at the Snetterton races this weekend. I will therefore be using the 2004 race car for this weekend. This will allow us some time to go testing with the new car before the Brands Hatch race in April. Picture taken on 25 March 2005.
Car nearing completion on 22 March 2005. It is booked in for a rolling road session tomorrow and a few issues to finish off before the first race this weekend.
Car has been completely sprayed and now the laborious work of putting everything back together begins. Picture taken on 1 February 2005.
Interior of car has been sprayed and exterior primed ready for spraying on 29 January 2005.
Custom Cages T45 roll cage installation nearing completion on 15 January 2005.
Road car was purchased on 6 Oct 2004 to be converted into new race car for 2005 season. This picture was taken on 18 December 2004 after car was stripped down to shell. Keith Bird Motorsport are building the car for me.
